Exercise
Put in 15 minutes of vigorous cardio every day or at least 4 times a week. One exercise that I have benefitted from and always recommend is Kapalbhati. You may do 15 minutes of Kapalbhati instead. This exercise should not be done in certain conditions. Do read more HERE before you start this and consult a trained yoga instructor. Do not practice it if you have hypertension or other heart problem or if you have abdominal issues.

Energy
Strike a balance with Proteins, Carbohydrates and Fat. Choose foods that are easy to digest and those that aid digestion. Drink 40ml fresh lime juice every day, as a lemon aid with or without sugar. Drink 2 glasses of fresh vegetable or fruit juice. Have half a glass of radish juice twice a week. Also have 1 glass carrots, tomatoes, amla and beet root juice twice a week. If you can, add juice of one bitter gourd to this mix.

Mood enhancing foods
Eat foods like Oranges, cashew nuts, beet root, asparagus, chocolate, garlic and avocado. Most of these are used for other reasons also and are listed in one or more categories above or below.

Selenium
Brazil Nuts are one of the richest sources of Selenium in plant based foods. Make them part of your diet plan. Alternately you can add one of these foods to your plan; Oysters, Clams, Tuna fish, Whole-wheat bread, Turkey (leg meat) or Sunflower seeds.

Magnesium
Leafy Green Vegetables are one of the richest sources of Magnesium and contain many invaluable nutrients. They are also a rich source of fiber to help keep the digestion in shape. Eat them regularly. Make one or more of these part of your sex diet plan; baby spinach, kale, collard greens or Swiss chard. Other sources of Magnesium to add variety to your plan are; yogurt, almonds, brazil nuts, pine nuts, flaxseed, pecans, sunflower seeds, soybeans, black beans, chick peas, bananas, blackberries, grapefruit, strawberries, figs

Calcium
Dairy products are the best source of high quality calcium. Add lots of milk, cheese, yogurt and ice cream to your plan. Other sources to choose from are; sesame seeds, kale, almonds, broccoli, spinach, raw turnip greens and watercress.

It is good to avoid synthetic vitamins in the form of supplements and use natural sources. For your supply of essential vitamins choose one or more foods from each category.

Vitamins A: carrots, tomatoes, iceberg lettuce, sweet potatoes, cod liver oil, red pepper, turkey liver, paprika, mangoes, butternut squash, dried basil, cantaloupe and peas.

Vitamins E: almonds, sesame seeds, sunflower seeds, Swiss chard, mustard greens, kale, hazel nuts, pine nuts, parsley, papaya, olives, wheat and plant seed oils.

Vitamins C: All citrus fruits; lime, lemon, oranges, grapes, kiwi and berries. Also peppers, pineapple and tomatoes.

Vitamins B6: sunflower seeds, pistachio nuts, tuna, prunes, bananas, spinach, sage, wheat germ, peanut butter and molasses.

Vitamins B12 (Cobalamin): all dairy products, milk, butter milk, yogurt, ice cream and cheese other foods rich in B12 clams, beef liver, mackerel, crab and eggs.

PMS Relief with Food and Exercise





Premenstrual syndrome or PMS is experienced by over 70% of women and is associated with a large number of symptoms which are different for every woman. Common symptoms are back pain, bloating, moodiness, depression, anxiety, irritability, nausea, breast swelling and abdominal cramps. In cases of estrogen dominance women suffer from abdominal weight gain, allergies, decreased libido, early onset of menstruation, fatigue, fibrocystic breasts, hair loss and even memory loss.  Some women have it so bad; it becomes difficult to do daily activities. There are many theories why women get back pain. Some suggest improper diet or hormonal changes. Women are often treated with painkillers which do not really in the long term and are very harmful in the short run. A reason that Ayurveda experts know better and is never touched upon is belly button (navel) displacement or the “slipping” of the “dharan”. Navel displacement is very common among women. It can be checked by measuring the distance from the belly button to the big toes of the foot. If the distance is unequal the navel has shifted. A more reliable way is to press at the center of the belly button with the tips of all fingers and thumb, while lying down and feel the pulse. If the pulse is not at the center then the navel has shifted. This can cause constipation, diarrhea, bloating and palpitations, depending on the shift to the left, right up or down. To center the navel, lie down on your back and try to touch the big toe of the foot to your nose, one at a time and then both together. Repeat till the pulse can be felt in the center. If you are not flexible enough raise both feet 6 to 12 inches from the ground and hold as long as possible. Repeat till the navel is centered.

To combat bloating a common issue, drink this herb tea. Add one quarter spoon of tea leaves to 1 cup water for color. Add powder of one cardamom and 2 cloves. Add half to one inch piece of crushed fresh ginger. Bring to a boil. Strain and drink a cup of this 2 to 3 times a day.

There is a lot of advice out there on how to manage PMS. We are looking here at how to manage PMS with food. I will not go into why each of these foods work, because if they work for you that is what matters. These foods fall in one or more of the following categories. High fiber foods will help you with puffiness, gas and discomfort. High water content and fiber will push things along and rid you of bloating. Irritation, anger and anxiousness can be alleviated with complex carbohydrates. Carbohydrates act as anti depressants and keep you in a good mood. They also eliminate anxiety and irritation. Eat only healthy carbs. Omega-3 rich foods also have antidepressant properties. Foods like bananas and pineapple contain melatonin which help you sleep better. Melatonin is a hormone which helps maintain the natural rhythm of the body.  To boost energy, foods rich in protein and B-12 need to be consumed. Green leafy veggies are good for many reasons. Food rich in magnesium helps fight headaches. Have a healthy breakfast, high in protein and fat to stay ahead of PMS cravings. Stay away from processed high sodium food and avoid alcohol.

Try different combinations from this list of 27 foods and stick with what works for you. Brussels sprouts, Cabbage, Celery, Squash, Broccoli, Oranges and Artichokes are high fiber with lots of water content. Building Sexual Energy for Health


According to yogic philosophy and practice sexual energy can be cultivated, generated and used by means of various techniques to improve physical, emotional and spiritual health. One way is Kapal Bhati. This is a part of hundreds of Kundalini Yoga exercises done by Indian yogis to harness sexual energy. It is being “sold” by modern day “Yogis” running health shops, as a breathing exercise but it has deeper physiological and spiritual consequences. If practiced for long durations and with the correct technique and mental attitude you can achieve robust health and total control over base urges like sex. One does not need to indulge in any sexual activity at all to live a fulfilled life. Achieving such superlative control over one’s self is above most mortals. There is nothing wrong with being sexually active only if it is not an obsession. Squandering precious body fluid is considered a bigger sin than gluttony. Everything you do in life from making money, developing physical strength, trying to look good, buying a big house or a big car is directed towards the opposite sex, to be able to attract a mate. Many people would be happy with lesser, easy to manage money, easy to maintain small house and driving a smaller car but we need to create the perception of being better and more powerful than our fellow men. I have been working on simplifying my life for the past 14 years. I am in a place where I am mostly above all material things. I believe I have conquered wrath, greed, sloth, pride, lust, envy, and gluttony and have attained complete peace of mind and compassion. I am in touch with my body, spirit and nature. I do not envy anyone and do not try to prove anything to anyone. I have been cutting down on the number of material possessions I have or am attached to. I have conquered my urge for money, women, food, drink and tobacco almost completely. I know from my experience that at the root of all our uncontrollable urges is being able to win over the urge for sexual activity. This is the highest test. Believe me the more sexually in control you are the happier you will be. You can also use sexual control to discipline yourself and apply it to making more money, improving health, getting more knowledge or whatever else you desire. The more you conserve yourself and improve health and productivity, you can apply that much more in whatever it is you are trying to achieve. Sexual conservation also makes you more sexually desirable to women. This happens because of improved health and energy levels result in subtle messages that are received by women about your health and ability. You may label this as the “X” factor. Women are designed to choose the best possible mate and can easily evaluate the promise a man holds.

I have mentioned Kapalbhati above. Some other exercises and techniques used for achieving all this are Nauli Kriya, Anulom Vilom, Bhramri, Udgeet, Nadi Shodhan and many more. It is important to pick one of the more powerful exercises like Kapalbhati or Nauli Kriya and use them for your practice till you have completely mastered it, known as “Sadhna” or to control. Every individual has his own needs according to the constitution and biochemistry. Thus, it is imperative to choose the exercise or a combination that most suits. You can do it by hit and trial or find a good guru to help you. How long you do any particular exercise also matters. Doing Kapalbhati for 1 to 2 minutes will not really produce any results. I have been doing it for 15 to 25 minutes in 5 minute sets interspaced by other exercises. I get best results at 25 minutes. I am not suggesting that you do it at that level and you need to be careful. But you will need to find the correct exercise and the duration for yourself. The only thing certain here is that given the will and tenacity you show, there is no way you cannot win over your base desires and gain complete control of your body, mind and spirit.

In addition to all this I believe that proper Testosterone level for a male is one of the most important factor for proper functioning of the body. Bigger Breasts – Tips and Tricks




Breast size usually increases as women become more sexually active due to the natural response of the body to produce more estrogen and progesterone. These hormones determine the over fertility which is connected to proper milk production and menstruation. If you have issues with menstruation it is advisable to consult a health professional without delay. Birth control pills increase estrogen and/or progesterone levels which can aid breast enlargement. I would advise strongly against using birth control pills and estrogen or progesterone therapy to increase breast size because of their adverse side effect. Breasts are essentially fat and most women want to eat a low fat diet. It is not possible to increase breast size on a low fat diet. So exercise to tone yourself and increase the intake of fat in moderation. You need to gain a bit of weight for larger breasts.

Use edible grade oils, like coconut, olive or almond oil in rotation. You can do it yourself. Always massage both breasts together in a circular steady motion. Get sufficient sleep. It takes the body 6 to 8 hours to recuperate from the daily drain. So getting sufficient sleep is as important as the right diet and enough exercise for a healthy sexual system.

Erectile Dysfunction - the superSEXman


Erectile Dysfunction (ED / Impotence) is the inability of a man to hold an erection firm and long enough for vaginal penetration and to sexually satisfy a partner. It may affect a healthy person from time to time and should not be worried about. Temporary physical or psychological stress may induce sexual dysfunction both in men and women. Not “feeling like” doing it is part of being “normal”. Large corporations making money off you would only want you to believe otherwise. However, if Erectile Dysfunction becomes chronic and your relationship and sex life are affected, you should take it seriously. It may not be easy for men to admit it and talk about it but you need to consult your doctor, mainly to rule out any underlying medical issues. Sexual dysfunction can often be a precursor to Diabetes, Heart Disease, High Cholesterol, Depression etc. Often sexual dysfunction in men is caused by aging or a mix of physiological and psychological problems in younger men. In young men it is often the result of alcoholism and excessive smoking, or indulgence in other drugs mixed with bad lifestyle choices. It can be caused by excessive indulgence and excessive use of porn and masturbation. Erectile Dysfunction affects obese individuals more often. This is in addition to under 200 million spent marketing Erectile Dysfunction drugs to Doctors and other health care professionals in the US alone. A large number of individuals are using these drugs sooner because of easy access to “information” and easy availability of the “magic” drugs. Doctors are only too happy to prescribe these magic pills. There is little research on the harmful, long term side effects of these drugs. The panic fashioned by these large corporations has shaped a huge market and has created a whole new industry also selling you “natural magic cures to Erectile Dysfunction”. Most of these “magic cures” are nothing more than a plan in one way or another to do the following 2 things; Exercise and eat healthier. What these plans do not prescribe is “get sufficient rest”.

Consider this: There is no medical test that can be done to show that Erectile Dysfunction will not resolve itself spontaneously. In fact most men would do fine, if they did not stress over what was happening to them and did not pressure themselves to perform when the body did not want to and the problem was only temporary. If it is happening to a 50 year old male, he needs to ask himself if there is need to stress over it. As we age our ability to do physical and mental labor goes down, for some more than others. As women age they encounter menopause. Therefore my question is what the medical emergency is if at 50 years I cannot respond sexually as I did at 15. Do I pop a pill because I want to do more than my body can? For the record I am 50 and take no chemicals to enhance my sexual performance.

The popular brain wash about Erectile Dysfunction is similar to the one about depression. There is no scientific way to prove that a person is suffering from depression. It is only the judgment or a “call” taken by the treating psychiatrist when he labels you as a person with “Bipolar Depression”, “Major Depression” or for that matter “Arithmetic learning disorder” and prescribes powerful brain altering chemicals. In most cases there is no guarantee that the treatment would work. The drugs are now known to be extremely addictive and may interfere with proper brain function. Most individuals “diagnosed” with depression are told they have a “chemical imbalance”. If there really was a “chemical imbalance” there would also be a way to medically test it and report it. In a very similar way the normal aging process in some and a temporary “sexual fatigue” in others, is being labeled Erectile Dysfunction by the pharmaceutical industry. Drugs worth billions of dollars are being sold to unsuspecting individuals brain washed through large media spends. I would listen to my body and work on overall health. You cannot suffer from sexual dysfunction if you are generally healthy.

Ingesting chemicals to sexually perform better is in my view similar to taking steroids to enhance physical performance. Viagra the most popular brand was an accidental discovery. Sildenafil Citrate the active ingredient in Viagra was being tested as a drug for lowering blood pressure. Its ability to work as a potential cure for Impotence was discovered during these tests. The rest is history. Viagra has become a multibillion dollar wonder drug being prescribed to millions of individuals around the world. The big problem with the use of Viagra is that there has not been sufficient time since its first use for studies to be available on the long term side effects. Some data is now emerging. Going by the standard norm that the pharmaceutical industry follows, about 30 years down the road every drug is “banned” and another one introduced for being better and safer. The word “safer” in the pharmaceutical industry means that “we do not have enough data to label it as harmful”. The cycle continues and every 30 years or so a “new and improved” “magic cure” is introduced only to be banned 30 years down the road.

The best remedy for erectile dysfunction is to exercise, eat healthy, get enough sleep and get a treatment for your real health issues. The top of the list has to be “do not stress yourself” and “do not desire to be a superSEXman”.

How to increase breast size naturally

I have written about this exercise before in this blog. The exercise has many benefits for women including enhancing breast size. In addition this exercise balances the hormones and increases fertility. It helps with pre and post menstrual issues. Helps you have even better and full body orgasms. There are two forms of the exercise one for men known as the Male Deer Exercise or Sexual Qigong (Chi Kung) for men and the other for women, the Female Deer Exercise also known as Sexual Qigong for women. The exercise enhances sexual energy, improves vitality and helps with many common female ailments and generally elevates mood. It should be practiced everyday in the morning except during menstruation so as not to interfere with proper flow. The exercise has two steps, breast massage and holding firm.

Breast Massage
Remove all clothing and Jewelry and sit cross legged on the floor. Use a mat or cushion if you like. Place your left foot touching the body. You need to partially sit on the heel placing the foot close to the vagina. Place the right foot on the left foot touching the body. If you are not flexible enough use a small ball between the left heel and the body. Gently exert pressure with the left foot to press against the body. Rub your hands together to warm them. Gently place the hands on your breasts. Feel the warmth and close your eyes. Now move your hands slowly in circles lightly skimming the surface of the breasts. Move both hands together going inside up and outside down, in circles around the nipples. Breathe in while going up and out while going down. Repeat it 81 times with your eyes closed and enjoy every stroke.

Holding firm
After the 81 rounds of the breast massage hold your fingers around the thumb tightly. This activates some key acupressure points of the hands. Hold your breath and squeeze the front perineum muscle. Keep the stomach and anus muscles relaxed and squeeze the muscle you would use to stop urine flow mid stream. Hold it as long as you can comfortably. Do this just once.

Use the technique as described above to increase breast size and buoyancy. If you want to maintain breast size change hand directions every day, going clockwise one day and counter clockwise the next. For breast size reduction massage the breasts going down inside and up on the outside.

Dharan - Pulse behind the belly button

Old school Ayurveda practitioners believe that the pulse behind the belly button has a lot to do with our health, digestion, backache, constipation and a lot more. This pulse is called “Dharan”. This pulse can be found easily if you are lean or of average build. To find it lay flat on your back and press in the center of the belly button with the fingers and thumb held together at the tips. If the pulse is not dead center you may suffer from constipation, indigestion or diarrhea. Whatever the problem backache and weakness are always associated with the shifting of the Dharan. It does not happen to men as much as it happens to women and those of weak build. But very often we find healthy men being affected by it especially after an acute disease. It can affect those who go without a meal for long periods of time and if shifted it can affect your ability to eat properly.

If your Dharan has shifted it may not be easy to bring it back in many cases. I have suffered from this for many years. The symptoms I have whenever my Dharan shifts are: Loss of appetite, pain in the back on the right side where the ribs join the back of the abdominal cavity. It is an incapacitating pain. Linked to this is a sort of tension in the abdomen as if from nervousness. The loss of appetite is complete, I do not feel hungry at all and steadily lose weight, energy levels go down and I am completely bedridden for days on end. Associated with it is a semi formed stool and constipation with a soft stool. Evacuations become insufficient and incomplete. I feel good lying down but trying to stay upright for even an hour becomes impossible. In my case it is a chronic condition and I have to work on it every day to center it. Generally it can be centered with some effort and it stays there, but you need to monitor it if you suffer from backache and issues like constipation and indigestion, especially if the cause is unknown.

Yoga and Ayurveda understand the problems associated with Dharan shifting and suggest techniques to deal with it. Dharan shifting could be a temporary condition or a chronic one, like in my case. Dharan may shift to the right, left, up or down. In my case it always shifts to the left or down or somewhere in between. If it shifts left you can center it by lying down and kicking forward with the left leg. Keep checking and kick as many times as needed until it is centered. If it shifts to the right do this with the right leg. You could also lie down and lift your legs 6 to 12 inches up and hold them there as long as possible and repeat, to center the Dharan if it shifts left, right, up or down. An alternate exercise is to lie flat on your belly and hold your legs with your hands behind you and pull, arching your body backward as much as you can. Another technique is to take a towel and wrap it into a circle leaving a hollow in the middle. Lie down on top of this aligning the hollow with your belly button. If you suffer from a backache and there is no medical cause, you should look at the possibility of Dharan shifting. Backache can also happen if you have too much belly fat and weakness of the back muscles. I would suggest that everyone monitor the Dharan. It is also important to check the Dharan when you are feeling perfectly will to establish the baseline for yourself. Monitor it regularly and do the exercises if you have a backache and indigestion and find a change in the position of the Dharan from the baseline. The exercises for centering the Dharan are safe and will also strengthen your back and abdominal muscles.

Meditation Techniques

Whenever we think of practicing meditative techniques, we really want to relax, have lesser negative thoughts and get rid of our anxieties. Meditation will not only help you achieve this but will also help improve physical and spiritual health. Anyone who is relaxed and calm is always more confident, has a lower heart rate and has a general feeling of wellbeing. All meditative techniques teach you to train your mind to be in your control. We mostly live in the past or worry about the future and focus on the negatives of life and that is the cause of many ailments. Controlling our thoughts and living in the present moment and making the most of it, is our goal which can be achieved through sustained practice of meditation. Thoughts seem to have a will of their own and they keep pulling us into past events and future concerns. The more negative the thought the more powerful it is. So how do we begin to eliminate focusing on negatives of life? Meditation is effective but is often more difficult than it may seem. Sitting still for long hours thinking about nothing may not be for us mere mortals. Thinking about nothing or “shunya” as the Vedas call it, is really the essence of meditation and mind control. With small steps everyone can get there. Elementary meditative techniques can be practiced just about anywhere and at anytime. Once these are mastered one can move on to mastering the more advanced techniques. Here are three Elementary to intermediate techniques.

Thought switching
The mind can only hold one thought at a time. So to begin with try switching a negative thought whenever it occurs with a positive one. This is not really a meditation technique but is very effective in dealing with stressful thoughts and a step forward. It helps you practice the very basic mind control and soon you learn to be the master and not a slave to your random thoughts. Negative thoughts have a deep effect not only on mental health but also on physical health and reflect in our attitude which has an effect on our work performance and relationships which have a bearing on how well we do in life professionally and personally. Whenever you find yourself having thoughts which make you anxious and stressed all you need to do is, think of something or someone who brings you joy and happiness. Usually we are anxious about future events or outcomes of acts already done. We need to understand that in both situations we can do nothing but wait for events to unfold. No amount of thinking and stressing can change anything. If you find that there is something that can be done to influence the outcome it would be sensible to take action rather than stressing about it. Let us look at two techniques that can help us be in more control of our thinking process and live a happier, healthier life. This can often lead to creating harmonious circumstances. Very often our circumstances are what we think them to be.


Focused Breathing
Our breathing always changes in line with our emotional and mental states. The converse also holds true, if we change the way we breathe it affects our emotional and mental state. Usually when we breathe it is shallow. Try starting with just this aspect of breath control breathing deeper and consciously. Our anxiety and negative thoughts always start when we are alone. This can happen at any time and more so at night. Whenever you find yourself having the “opportunity” for negative thoughts try focusing on your breath. It is quite simple really and can be practiced anywhere; at work, at home, while commuting and wherever you feel the need. Whenever and wherever you remember be aware of your breathing; breathe deeply in a steady controlled manner. You need to breathe slow and deeper than you normally would. Simply using this breath control technique, over time you will find measurable change in your heart rate and blood pressure. It will calm and relax you. This is also an excellent technique for managing anger. If done regularly, this alone will change your attitude and make you a more positive person. Focused breathing in the long term can become a matter of habit. It affects changes to the biochemistry of the body especially a drop in blood cortisol levels. Cortisol levels are found higher in many people due to high stress and anxiety levels.

Bhastrika
To take the practice further and if you are more committed, you can try Bhastrika. It is best to practice Bhastrika in the morning somewhere with nature. Go to a park if you can. Sit cross legged in Gyan mudra. Keep your spine straight. For Gyan mudra make a circle with your index finger and thumb, place your hands, face up on your knees. Close your eyes and focus in the middle of the forehead. Now take deep breaths saying Om within your mind. Try to stay focused. You will find all kinds of thoughts wondering through your mind. Try not to focus on any thought and bring yourself back and concentrate on the word Om, the point on your forehead and in keeping your breath steady. Every time you breathe in say “O” and when you breathe out say “hm” to complete one chant of “Om” within your heart. In the beginning you may find it difficult to continue for long. Start with a couple of minutes and increase the time every day. You should target about 15 minutes of Bhastrika practice every day. When you begin it is fine even if you get out of the house, reach the chosen place and practice only for a minute. It is important to make it a habit and go through the motions of preparing to do it. Start at home if you like or if you do not have access to a ground or park. The important thing is to start and practice regularly. I wish you luck in your journey towards peace and liberation.
